Moderated by Assistant Professor Chen Kang-ning of the Department of Chinese Literature at National Cheng Kung University, this lecture will feature Mr. Chou Yu, founder of Wistaria Tea House. The lecture will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Calligraphy Classroom (Room 21202), Department of Chinese Literature Building, College of Liberal Arts.
In modern society, people are often burdened by stress, anxiety, and tension, and few are able to truly quiet their minds and savor a fine cup of tea. Yet the world of tea is vast and profound, involving the interdependent relationship between human beings and the natural world. Tea tasting is not merely a physiological satisfaction of taste, but also a practice closely connected to the cultivation of life.
For this Chinese studies outreach event, we are honored to invite Mr. Chou Yu, founder of Wistaria Tea House, to guide us into the world of tea. Faculty members, students, and members of the public, both within and beyond the university, who are interested in tea culture or wish to understand the contemporary significance of “tea” are warmly welcome to participate.
